
Evelyn Matongo
Evelyn Matongo is a dynamic and results-driven Public Health Specialist and PhD candidate with over 13 years of experience in designing, managing, and evaluating community-based health programs. Her work spans key public health areas including HIV/AIDS, mental health, youth empowerment, and gender-based violence (GBV).
She has proven expertise in delivering mental health services using the Common Elements Treatment Approach (CETA), as well as in capacity building, health systems strengthening, and multi-stakeholder coordination. A researcher and certified trainer, Evelyn has gained extensive global experience through collaborations with organizations such as CETA Global, CDC, USAID, CIDRZ, and the University Teaching Hospitals.
In her current role, Evelyn is committed to advancing equitable access and uptake of Sickle Cell Disease healthcare and psychosocial support services for underserved populations, including sickle cell warriors and their caregivers. She will be contributing her skills and experience to support ongoing PACTS study and community led initiatives in Zambia.
