Eunice Agyeman Ahmed

PhD Student, Ghana

Dr. Mrs. Eunice Agyeman Ahmed is a PhD student (PACTS project for Ghana) studying International Public Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), where she focuses on supporting adolescents with sickle cell disease (SCD) transition into appropriate adult care. She is a dedicated haematologist at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana. She earned her medical degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2012 and completed specialized training in haematology and transfusion medicine at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2018. Dr. Ahmed is committed to improving SCD care in Ghana, participating in advocacy, education, training, and research initiatives. She serves as an investigator for the Ghana Sickle Pan African Research Consortium (SPARCO), promoting SCD research across Africa. Additionally, she is dedicated to sharing her expertise in haematology by supporting the training of doctors, nurses, and medical students. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Ahmed enjoys travelling, sightseeing, and spending time with her family.
